The JG54 'Green Hearts'* are a club for hardcore Cal-Look Volkswagens. Cars in the club must run quicker than 15.99 seconds in the 1/4 mile. The original JG54 '* Grünherz' were the elite Messerschmitt squadrons in World War II. Some of the highest scoring flying aces were in the JG54. We had a perfect Autumn day on Saturday , Randy bought his car in , to waxoil it after we had it all apart at the beginning of the year . I gave the IDA's a tune up . Neal payed a visit in his RS2 . We also took some photos of Randy's and Ivan's Lookers , along with a Mexican Bug that we worked on this week . We lowered it and fitted Flat4 replica Fuchs ( expertly detailed by Alex at Defcon3 ).

It makes for a pretty cool daily for Bob ( the owner ) . I don't know his age , but he's in his fifties , don't you wish you Grandad was that cool !

Lofty's 2276

Lofty bought Shane Noone's JMR built 2276 with only 800 miles on it , for an excellent price . We are swapping the cam from an FK89 , down to a Web-Cam 86c , as Lofty will be running a 1.04 4th gear in his Rancho Pro-Comp gearbox .

Good Old Scat Lifters !!

The Scat lifter's On Lofty's 800 mile old 2276 are looking in a pretty sad state already , fortunately we were opening the motor up for a cam change anyway ( FK89 down to Web-Cam 86c ) . This was a JMR assembled and dynoed motor for Shane Noone ( 201 HP ) , so it has nothing to do with incorrect assembly or incorrect break in . Just garbage lifters !
