The JG54 'Green Hearts'* are a club for hardcore Cal-Look Volkswagens. Cars in the club must run quicker than 15.99 seconds in the 1/4 mile. The original JG54 '* Grünherz' were the elite Messerschmitt squadrons in World War II. Some of the highest scoring flying aces were in the JG54. James spent a long time , removing the flakey original VW under-seal , and ZIP wheeling back to bare metal . We brushed on several coats of etch primer and then applied a few coats of stone-chip , that we then painted with 2K gloss black . Hopefully this should keep the floor-pan intact for another couple of years .

Last weekend , saw VW Action take place at Santa Pod Raceway , 5 of the JG54 were in attendance , as well as some of the DAS and the Northern England Cal-look contingent , the SAS RWF . The weather was great on Saturday , but not so good on Sunday , but the guys made the most of the Saturday afternoons racing .
