Road Trip !

Randy Jewell , Alex Taylor and Myself , went on a road trip to the massive Hanover VW show in Germany . Alex has been going to this show for the past 6 years , and has always said a few of us should go . So this year we did . I took my work van , to fill with purchased parts and panels , and we set off for Dover . We took the ferry crossing to Calais , then drove to Hanover . It was about a 1200 mile round trip , but well worth it .

We got there Wednesday early evening , and checked in to the hotel , and went straight to the DFL cruise , at Mel's Diner , an American style restaurant . The Police had already closed the road , due to the V8 guys that turned up , laying some serious rubber .

The place was , I thought absolutely packed , with cars and people everywhere , but the weather wasn't great , in fact it rained as the evening went on . Dokke from the DFL told us , that if the weather had been better , there would have been 3 times as many people there . That would have been chaos !

Dokke sorted us out with some beers and burgers , and we watched as car after car left , some slowly , some not , wheel-spinning in the wet , all the way up the road . it was an entertaining evening for sure .
