The JG54 'Green Hearts'* are a club for hardcore Cal-Look Volkswagens. Cars in the club must run quicker than 15.99 seconds in the 1/4 mile. The original JG54 '* Grünherz' were the elite Messerschmitt squadrons in World War II. Some of the highest scoring flying aces were in the JG54. James previously ran a 2109cc IDA motor in his car , but has stepped up to a 2276cc IDA Whopper , with a CB2289 cam ( FK87 Equiv ) , 10.5 to 1 , and VWSpeedshop long valve conversion heads . Along with AVO coil-overs now fitted to the car to improve his launch , this should see him into the low 13's .
